By November 24, 2010Blog

First up is one almighty debut release from brand spanking new label ‘Ghetto Funk‘, if this is anything to go by we’re in for a real treat when the eye poppingly good release schedule starts to drop. It’s a 4 track artist EP from Featurcast and each one is a club banger in it’s own right… quadruple A side anyone? Due out early december on vinyl only, you really don’t wanna miss this one! 5/5

Next up is a 4 track EP on the mighty Jalapeno Records from good friends of HKPP and south west warriors ‘Robin Parris & Aldo Vanucci’, a truly funky excursion as you would expect from anything touched by Vanucci, chock full of Horns, Wha Wha, Disco and Hip Hop vibes! Digital now available from junodownload, beatport and all other reputable distributers. 4/5

After 20 releases the Bomb Strikes ‘Volume’ series has come to an end, but what a finale! Label boss Mooqee teams up with HKPP favourite Pimpsoul to bring you an amazing bit of wax, not only is it blue, but it also bangs… hard! All three tunes have been regular fixtures in our sets since we got our grubby little mits on them. Available now from juno, kudos and all other good record outlets. Have no fear this does not herald the end of Bomb Strikes no not at all, they will be continuing to push their sound with artist development and individual Eps plus a new Into Battle release featuring the likes of Parker & Slynk coming real soon. 4.5/5

The 3rd release on A.Skillz new imprint Jam City Records comes courtesy of the mysterious CB’s who powered on to the scene with the amazing Misdemeanour in December ’09 (which we’re still playing I hasten to add). This release is ‘Jammed’ with a whole host of remixes catering for pretty much everyones wants or needs and I’ve yet to decide which one is floating my boat above the rest. Proper good package! Out now at beatport and will be available from junodownload Dec 5th. 4/5

A late contender has just emerged, dropping on the new ‘Disco Cakes’ label (from the people who brought you ‘Hot Cakes’ and ‘Jungle Cakes’) is the ‘Dancefloor Outlaws’ first release, for those of you who don’t know that’s one of the south wests finest Robin Parris (see above) alongside another, Will Streetwise. Another 4 track EP of exceptional quality right here, full of block rocking goodness… and pandas! Available on vinyl from Kudos, Chemical and all good distributers, out on digital in 2 weeks. 4/5
